Does Tutoring (Supplemental Educational Services) Work?
According to a 2007 study conducted by the Rand Corporation for the US Department of Education, students in low-performing schools made gains
in math and reading after participating in tutoring programs such as ABGT's.
The study findings show that "On average, across seven districts that could be included in the achievement effects analysis, participation in SES had
a statistically significant, positive effect on students' achievement in reading and math. Students participating for multiple years experienced larger
gains."

At A Better Grade Tutoring, we understand that each child learns in their own way and
our program is designed to accommodate all styles of learners. We pair students and
tutors based on a variety of criteria including but not limited to grade level, subject
area and sometimes location.
The direct instruction your student receives is individualized to meet their academic
needs. We recommend a minimum of three hours of one on one tutoring each week.
Anything less than that is generally ineffective. The more time your student spends
with their tutor the quicker they will gain greater understanding of the subject area.
Failing students may require a more intensive tutoring schedule.
The length of time your student will require tutoring varies based on their needs, their
abilities and how far they are behind. Studies show that a minimum of 22 hours of
instruction is needed to make gains in reading and math. Some students may need
tutoring services in one subject area while others need help in multiple areas.
